Skoganvarre and Finnmark county offer magnificent opportunities for inland fishing. On the mountain lakes it is easy to leave everyday worries behind and enjoy the beautiful sceneries of northern Norway.
Lake trout and arctic char are the most sought after catches. Normally trout, arctic char and grayling are below 1 kg, but big specimens of each fish are caught on almost every trip. All the permits needed for inland fishing can be acquired at Skoganvarre.
Even in June there are snowfalls on the mountain areas, and condition may vary from glorious sunshine to total mountain fog that makes navigating very difficult. We recommend hiring a guide for the first timers to the mountains. For experienced troopers we wish tight lines and enjoyable moments.

The military areas near Skoganvarre have recently been discontinued, and nowadays there is free access to the lakes near by. The areas have been closed for decades, and the fish population has been able to develop without human interference. The area offers great opportunities for all fishing.
